Sensei Roy Elghanayan at the 2010 USMAF

I wanted to share a fantastic demo that was filmed at the 2010 USMAF. It features the amazing Sensei Roy Elghanayan who is representing the Krav Maga style. Sensei Elghanayan is the awe-inspiring and deadly Krav Maga instructor you probably have seen on the Internet in a wildly popular video, throwing people around like rag dolls to a pretty annoying soundtrack (hint, turn your speakers down).

I liked this video below even more as it was much better footage but also showed the techniques more clearly and from multiple angles.

Thanks for the link, @kravlady

    You’re welcome!

However, I feel sort of obligated to point out that a lot of the techniques used in this video are not actually Krav Maga techniques as you will learn them. He uses a combination of Jiu Jitsu Moves and Krav Maga kicks to the groin.

Still a super awesome movie, though. 😀

  2. You know, it’s funny you bring that up. I hear a lot of other styles in the same breath as Krav Maga and often wondered how different schools incorporate non-Krav Maga techniques into the curriculum.

Case in point, my school states right up front that they teach Krav Maga, Jiu Jitsu, and Muay Thai. Each style has its own class and students who train separately from one another. However, we are shown may different moves in my Krav Maga class that are pointed out by the instructors as Muay Thai moves.

Are you aware how much of Krav Maga is “borrowed” from other styles and if it’s consistent across the board?
